NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Mayor of Chandigarh today inspected primary schools, under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and assured to make the class rooms smart in all the schools with proper provision of computer and projectors etc.
She was accompanied by Sh. Joginder Singh, Block Education Officer and concerned officers of MC, visited primary school, Sector 12 (PGI) and Buterla village, Chandigarh. The Mayor was apprised by the school incharges about the condition of the buildings and other infrastructure facilities provided in the schools premises.
After inspection, the Mayor assured that the schools under the jurisdiction of MC will be upgraded soon and converted into smart schools with all modern facilities at par with other government schools in Chandigarh. She further said that matter will be discussed with Chandigarh Administration regarding transfer of more schools under Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
She checked mid day meal provided in the primary schools and instructed the concerned staff for ensuring hygienic food for the children. She said that a meeting of officers will be called in two-three days to chalk-out proper plan for upgradation of the schools and addition of more hygienic food supplements to the students of primary schools.
