NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Punjab Roadways Mulazam joint action committee today called on Transport Minister S. Ajit Singh Kohar here today and submitted their charter of demands.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of Punjab Transport Department said that action committee demanded for the induction of PUNBUS buses in Punjab Roadways fleet, jobs to wards of deceased employees, release of remaining budget of Rs 42 crores, to constitute 6th pay commission. release of DA arrear, to revive of remaining 32 yard master vacancies, stop claim cases of MACT on drivers, provision of uniforms to Punjab roadways drivers and all categories of roadways and promotion of workshop employees and to fill up the backlog of SC/ST category etc.
Mr. Kohar listened to the demands sympathetically and said that most of the demands have been conceded like 305 PUNBUS buses are being added in the flee, 93 conductors, 2 bus driver, 13 workshop employees and 25 class IV employees have already being provided appointment letters etc. and remaining would be resolved soon.
Mr. Kohar assured the delegation of resolving all demands on priority basis.
Mr. Surinder Singh, Convenor, Mr Jagdish Singh, Sanwinder Singh, Mangat Khan from Punjab Roadways Mulazam joint action committee besides Senior officers of the transport department were present in the meeting.
