MCC to Celebrate Lohri on 13th January : – The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided to celebrate ‘Lohri’ on January 13, 2018 at Sector 48, Chandigarh from 4.00 pm onwards.
This was decided in a meeting of Arts, Culture & Sports committee held here today under the chairpersonship of Ms. Shipra Bansal and attended by other members of committee namely Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Sh. Devinder Singh Babla, Sh. Sat Parkash Aggarwal, Sh. Jagtar Singh Jagga and concerned officer of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh was also attended the meeting as special guest.
The Committee decided that the programme will start with lighting of the “Lohri bonfire” will followed by a cultural programme presented in traditional Punjabi touch. This time the theme of the Lohri celebration will be “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and “Hamara Garv, Hamari Betiyan”. The committee decided that Smt. Kirron Kher, MP, U.T., Chandigarh will be the Chief Guest and Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh will be the guest of honour during the occasion.
