Rimi Dhar, the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist with music for many film songs under her belt has given some melodious music for movie . The movie songs have been sung by Rahat Fateh Ali khan , Arif Lohar, Kamal khan, Navraj Hans, Monika, Tochi Raina, Deepali Sathe and Rimi Dhar.
‘Cross Connection’ looks different in multifarious ways. It doesn’t have a singer who is the lead player, its story line is very fresh and different, it has roped many known theatre artists, its singers are internationally famous and it has a Mumbai based female music director. All this and many more features of this film arouse curiosity and interest and I have made up my mind to partake of the function.
The music bonanza is a feast to the senses and takes us down the memory lane into the golden era of Punjabi music. The songs penned by Sardar Balbir Singh has a Sufi flavor and Rimi has composed them beautifully and the singers have soulfully rendered them and the songs will be hummed till eternity.
Rimi Dhar said that Punjabis have over the years produced fantastic music, singers and composers. She felt privileged to have added her touch to this cultural heritage. In spite of having a modern face to it, the film is steeped in Punjabi culture and similarly its music is very mode but traditional instruments have been used to great advantage and one feels like listening to the sings time and gain.
On her future plans, Rimi said that many Bollywood films were in the offing and her musical journey would continue in the desired direction.
Mr. Vikram Gupta, owner of Glass Palace said that long way back when Mr. Jasbir Dhillon had just played the scratch recording of the songs to him, he decided and promised to release the music at Glass Palace itself . We at Glass Palace were honoured to be associated with such a path breaking film, remarked Mr. Gupta.
The movie Lyricist, S. Balbir Singh is a very polite and saintly figure and there is divine presence of words in his songs that will be ageless. The quartet of Jasbir Dhillon, Nishant Bhardwaj, Rimi Dhar and Balbir Dhillon will keep creating such meaningful music in future. The movie is slated for a world wide release on December 19.
