NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Nari Jagriti Manch on the occasion of International Women’s Day today celebrated the occasion in a unique way at Sector 40 Hanumant Dham Temple. UT Adviser Vijay Dev was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
On the other hand Chandigarh Mayor Arun Sood and BJP Chandigarh president Sanjay Tandon were Special Guest on the occasion besides Nari Jagriti Manch president Neena Tiwari besides others Manch members Prem Lata, Pal Sharma, Meena Gupta and Sudarshan Sharma.
On the occasion 30 needy disabled people were given artificial limbs while six of the girls from poor families were given bicycles. In addition to this Manch also felicitated Jasmine Kaur for excelling in taekwondo who had won a Gold Medal at the national taekwondo championship.
Neena Tiwari while speaking on the occasion thanked the adviser and apprised him of problems being faced by the city residents. These included faulty lift in Sector 17 Social Welfare Department because of which senior citizens were facing a lot of inconvenience.
