NEET 2017 counselling underway as MCC publishes indicative seat allotment result
N

With NEET 2017 counselling is currently underway, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) published the indicative seat allotment result for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2017 here on Tuesday (July 11), after a notice was issued regarding the ‘mock counselling’ on July 10.

NEET indicative (trial/mock) seat allotment result for admission to MBBS & BDS seats under All India Quota has been published at MCC website: www.mcc.nic.in. The candidates declared qualified for admission under 15% All India Quota were asked to register and fill choices of preferred institutes. In a notice issued on July 10, MCC said that it would publish the indicative seat allotment on 11 July by processing the data available at 12 am on July 11. The students can check NEET seat allotment result at official website mcc.nic.in.

The indicative seat allotment is just for providing information to the registered students about their chances of getting the preferred seat in the actual seat allotment round. However, if a student gets allotted a seat in the indicative round, he/ she may or may not get the same seat allotted in the actual seat allotment round. NEET UG seat allotment result of indicative round has been made available online and the registered students can check the same after logging into the portal.

MCC also said that the students will have to lock their final choices so that the Round 1 seat allotment could be processed. The locking of choices will remain open from 12 noon to 5 pm today, while the finally submitted data will be processed for two days – 13 & 14 July. The actual NEET seat allotment Round 1 result will be published on July 15. The students allotted a seat in the 1st round will have 7 days time to report at the allotted college.

Since MCC will conduct only 2 rounds of seat allotment for filling 15% All India quota seats in Medical & Dental courses, the vacant seats after the second round will be transferred to State quota after the completion of second round. The students will have to fill fresh choices of institutions/ courses for the second round. Those students who could not register for the 1st round will also be allowed to participate in the second round of counselling. The registration and choice filling for second round will be available from August 1 to 4 and the seat allotment result will be announced on August 8. The academic session of MBBS & BDS in all medical & dental colleges will commence from August 4, MCC said.
