NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Gurukul Vidyapeeth organized an orientation for its first year students of B. Tech. courses. Students were given a brief profile of the college and also were explained regarding the pre-requisites, amenities and other facilities of the premises. Dr. Sanjeev Sofat, Director PEC University, Chandigarh presided over the function .While motivating the students chief guest Sofat laid emphasis was on quality education to produce skilled and efficient engineers.
Dr. Manmohan Garg, Chairman, Gurukul Vidyapeeth said at the moment that the orientation program is designed to support new students as they begin their journey at Gurukul Vidyapeeth .He further informed students that an effective anti-ragging committee is functioning in the college and any students facing such issue can report the matter to him. He also laid importance on the development of complete human beings in the technical institutions.
He further added that it is need of the hour to provide holistic development to the students so that they can create a balanced society.Hence, the orientation was primarily focus on sensitisation of new students about the disciplines and their growing significance the world over, specifically in India.
