NewZNew, 17 October, 2015: The 7th Asia Pacific Conference on Exercise and Sports Sciences organized by Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad and Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS) drew to a close following three days of discussions, workshops, seminars and symposiums. Being held in India for the 1st time, the conference was based on the theme ‘Inter-disciplinary Applied Approach to Health and Performance Enhancement through Sports Science’.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) as Chief Guest. The Conference also witnessed the gracious presence of other senior dignitaries such as Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna International University; Dr Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna University; Dr G.L. Khanna, Dean-FAS, MRIU; Professor Dr Ming-Kai Chin, Advisor, APCESS 2015, among others.
Addressing the august gathering, Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI, congratulated the team of APCESS 2015 for their untiring efforts in putting together such a wonderful conference. He also recalled the rich legacy of Founder Visionary Dr O.P. Bhalla and the fact that Manav Rachna is committed to carrying his vision forward. Dr Prashant Bhalla further said, “Our Founding Father’s thoughts and philosophy will remain with us as we continue to focus on creating better human beings. Sports was always close to his heart and this Conference is in many ways a reiteration of his vision and mission. We at Manav Rachna will do our best to bring in the best synergies and practices to make a difference to the world at large by creating a workforce that is suited to the needs of industry. Considering the fact that the best minds from around the world have converged here at the Conference, the outcome would no doubt be desireable.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gurdeep Singh, Director, Association of Indian Universities, said, “This Institution has been a true marker of higher education in India. He also praised Dr Prashant Bhalla, President MREI, as one with the ability to attract the best talents and give a sense of direction to all those who look up to him. Mr Singh also felt that APCESS 2015 was comparable to some of the best conferences in the world and would no doubt pave the way for sports exchange between India and participating countries like China.
APCESS 2015 came to an emotional end with Dr G.L. Khanna, Dean, FAS, MRIU delivering the vote of thanks as he expressed his sincere gratitude to each and everyone—both delegates and organizing members of his team and beyond. Dr Khanna also appreciated the fact that APCESS 2015 was not just about the Asia Pacific region but had become a world conference as the best minds from 41 countries had come together to make it a stupendous success.
