NewZNew (Chandigarh) : A novel project to strengthen and extend the facility of counselling & guidance to the students of class X to XII in all the schools of Punjab, was launched by Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema, Education Minister Govt. of Punjab at Mohali and Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairperson Punjab School Education Board.
Under this project 22 designated councillors, one from each district of Punjab have been trained in modern evaluation system and guidance. Dr Cheema while inaugurating the project, congratulate the convener Mrs Shruti Shukla and said that the programme will empower the students in deciding their future.
While addressing the councillors Dr Cheema stated that the students particularly from rural areas do not get proper guidance regarding skill development and other allied educational programme being run in various educational institutes.
The recent training imparted to these councilors will go a big way in strengthen the system of education. He also said that these councillors will further train teacher in their respective districts in their regard. Dr Cheema while addressing the councillors expressed his satisfaction over the training imparted to these councillor and also said that the department will make it a regular feature.
Smt. Shruti Shukla commenting on the programme said that the training in addition to visit to important skill development institutions also included a 5 days residential workshop at MGSIPA in which experts from the field of counselling & Guidance were called to address the councillors.
