“HOCKEY WILL BE THE THEME OF THE FIRST PUNJABI FILM PRODUCED BY ME” – ROHIT JUGRAJ
newznew (Chandigarh) : Hockey lovers are in for a treat this winter. Rohit Jugraj, known for directing successful films like SardarJi I & II with Punjabi cinema’s superstar Diljit Dosanjh, has announced an upcoming Punjabi film ‘Khido Khudi’ based on India’s National game & Punjab’s first love in sports—Hockey. The film is Jugraj’s maiden venture as Producer & is being made under the banner of Kuausmedia Entertainment and Rohit Jugraj. The film is being Co Produced by Sagoon Wagh & directed by Sartaj Singh Pannu.
“ ‘Khido Khundi’ will be the first Punjabi film that will be based on Hockey & will document the glorious past of the game , the ‘small’ village — Sansarpur on the outskirts of Jalandhar, which has a big name for producing as many as 14 Hockey Olympians & much more.” Said Jugraj.
The movie through its riveting story line will ask questions like why the level of Hockey has gone down so much in the country, despite having examples like the ‘Sansarpur phenomena’ in the game.
“Rohit had taken a Break for a while & wanted to come back with something which could create History & leave a lasting mark on the Punjabi film Industry, all Punjabis in Punjab, other parts of India & abroad and of course all Indians, by making a memorable & meaningful Film . When Rohit heard the subject, it touched his heart & he instantly came on board as a Producer without any second thought.” Said Sartaj Pannu, Director.
The film will also look at the revival of the game to restore its glorious past once again.
“With the announcement of this Film we extend our hands in anticipation to all who want to help us spread the message of the Film far & Wide. We proudly offer the platform of our film to each & every Hockey player to be part of this movie alongside the Star Cast.” Summed Up Jugraj.
