MOBILE MEDICAL UNIT GIVES FACILITIES TO 100 VILLAGES
NewZNew (Moga) : Different health schemes are being run in Moga district the rural areas to provide better health facilities and ensure proper health of children and others.
Giving this information here today the Moga Deputy Commissioner Er DPS Kharbanda stated that during the current fiscal year upto 31 August,2015 Rs 13,31,000 have been disbursed to the women below poverty line under Jananai Suraksha Yojana. The scheme promotes institutional delivery wherein every delivery in rural health centres are given Rs 700 incentive and in urban areas Rs 600 incentive is given for the institutional deliveries. The civil surgeon Dr Renu Mangla also accompanied him.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under Janani Shishu Suraksha program free institutional delivery is conducted and the patient undergoes cashless treatment. The pregnant women are given free diet and transport facility. He added that the baby boy born is given free treatment till first year of his birth and baby girl is given free treatment till fifth year of her birth. These schemes are being run under National Health Mission. The Deputy Commissioner said that under the schemes 3,714 institutional deliveries have been conducted this fiscal year and benefits of Rs 13.31 lac have been distributed.
Similarly, the mobile medical unit of health department is providing health services to the patients at their door steps. The one hundred mobile medical units have given treatment to 3,365 patients so far and lab tests of 1,401 patients have been conducted.
The civil surgeon Dr. Renu Mangla appealed people to opt for delivery in government hospitals only. She added that under blindness control program 808 operations have been conducted.
