Sikander_Singh_Maluka_&_Virsa_Singh_Valtoha_1417010130NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Shiromani Akali Dal today charged Congress party for deliberately adopting double standards while seeking the  resignations of SAD leaders.

Mr Sikandar Singh Maluka, Rural Development and Panchayats Minister and General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal and Mr Virsa Singh Valtoha, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Spokesperson of SAD, today ridiculed the Congress party for raking up issues to settle their intra-party war of supremacy to hog headlines. The leaders said that if allegations of knowing the alleged accused was yardstick for seeking
resignation, the series of resignations should have started from top in the UPA under whose ministries and mentorship multi lakh crores scams shook the total economic structure of India.

They questioned Congress party’s deliberate silence when its Member Parliament from Jalandhar Santokh Singh Chaudhary was questioned by
Enforcement Directorate but the defunct and rejected party was seeking the resignation of SAD leaders on speculative reports of their likely
questioning. They said that the Congress party can only have moral authority of seeking resignation if they had already submitted the resignation of its MP from Jalandhar to Speaker Lok Sabha and thrown him out of Party.

The leaders said that it is surprising that CLP leader Mr Sunil Jakhar while defending Congress MLA from Gidderbaha in the Vidhan Sabha stated that a politician knowing a smuggler or a criminal is not an offence and then uses the same plea to seek resignation of SAD leaders for  just allegations of alleged accused. They said that if one has to resign just because of knowing an alleged accused, the resignations in Congress party would flow right from top in UPA to present PCC President and scores of Congress MLA’s. They said that first the Congress party should clean its house by seeking their resignations, only then it has the moral authority to seek resignations of SAD leaders.

They said that the Congress party was an issueless party and was catching straws in the wind to stay afloat as a political entity. They said that recent mutually contradictory statements by different Congress leaders in different tones suggest that intra party politics of Congress was dictating their behaviour rather than any public interest.

The leaders said that the unemployed, underworked Congress leaders have themselves assumed the responsibility of Spokesman of Enforcement Directorate. They said that Congress is seeking Oxygen from speculative stories being planted by vested interests to survive in ICU in which electorate had dumped them in Vidhan Sabha elections in 2012 and later in Lok Sabha elections 2014.
