NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Skipper Limited, one of the market leaders in the Polymer Pipe business, has announced its entry into the northern market of the country and kicks off commercial production from its Sikandrabad Unit. The plant is located in Bulandshaha district in Uttar Pradesh.
The plant has an installed manufacturing capacity of 6000 MTPA of Plumbing and Agri pipes. This takes the total capacity of the plant to 41000 MTPA. With a manufacturing area of 2475 sq. m, the unit will cater to demand of Northern part of the country including Delhi, Haryana, UP, Parts of MP, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu.
In order to expand Skipper Limited’s manufacturing capacity in India the plant is designed with state of art manufacturing technology and a tailor-made workshop layout for highly efficient production. The company has done local recruitments for both plant & ground personnel. It aims to deliver the best of class products and services to the people of North India.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Devesh Bansal, Director, Skipper Limited said “With this new world-class facility, we are proud to deepen our commitment to people of North India. He further added “Having crossed revenue of INR 15000 Million, the plant in Uttar Pradesh is our step towards capacity expansion. Our objective is to increase our momentum by installing facilities across India and continue to be the fastest growing company in the sector. With an initial capacity of 6000 MTPA, Skipper Limited will look at bagging at least 10 % of the market share in the region. Through this set up, we hope contributing to the economic development of the region.” he added.

Skipper Limited aims to support the Prime Ministers initiative of ‘Make in India’. Skipper Limited has currently 5 nos. of Polymer Pipes manufacturing unitsand is set to achieve a capacity of 100000 MTPA by 2019.
Skipper’s Polymer Pipes business has been registering 100% growth and has already captured a significant share of the national market. The company also has an initiative of excellence “Skipper Saathi” that trains semi-skilled and unskilled plumbers. Through this initiative, the company aims to contribute to the growing requirement of trained manpower in plumbing and farming sectors.
