NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The Kindergarten, Class I and Class II students of Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education showcased their multifaceted talent with great aplomb and finesse at the Song and Rhyme Day – EXPRESSIONS 2016.
The programme, held at the NITTTR auditorium, was a beautiful bouquet of performances based on themes ranging from Shapes and Colours to Courage. The young students looked divine in their colourful attire. The poise with which they took to stage spoke volume about their level of preparation and confidence.
The youngest Kindergarteners, students of Nursery stole everyone’s heart as they sang and danced about their favourite fruits. Lower Kindergarten students highlighted how shapes and colours shape and colour our lives. Their song ‘Rang-birangi Dharti’ mesmerized the entire audience. The Upper Kindergarteners put up acts based on their friends –the animals. Their short skit titled ‘Rude Chicky’, taught all a lesson in politeness. Class I students highlighted, through their presentations, that courage lies within all of us and with it we can conquer all. Their presentation of the poem ‘My Courage is here’ was truly inspiring. The Garbbha dance performed by them was a delight to watch. And, finally, the Class II students talked about toys as tool for learning. In the short play ‘Susie’s Pet’, they highlighted that each of us is unique and this uniqueness must be celebrated. The grand finale – ‘Bhanghra Dance’ by Class II students brought the vibrancy and energy of Punjab to the stage.
The Chairman of Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Mr. Arvind Mehen and the Principal Mrs. Anjali Sharma, applauded the efforts of the young Aurobindoitites and highlighted that Education needs to be wholistic and integral as envisioned by the great poet philosopher Sri Aurobindo.
