NewZNew (Bathinda) : Today’s youngsters only can fight the battle against drugs are they are educated and aware. This evil of society can be rooted only after we get together and fight against it. The parents, teachers, youngsters and society have an important role to play in it. Justice A.K.Sikri, the judge Supreme Court of India said this while presiding over seminar on Quit Drugs Movement that the Asia Pacific Jurist Association (APJA) Punjab and Haryana chapter held at SSD Girls College in association with the District Bar Association Bathinda.
Speaking at the event the Justice Vijender Jain (retd) Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and chairperson Human Rights Commission Haryana and Uttrakhand said that the society today needs youngsters who have strong values to reform the addicts and create awareness in society drugs by starting a campaign.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court judges Justice Mr R K Jain, Justice Mr Ajay Tewari and Justice Mr Paramjit Singh were also present as guests. Besides them Justice Anil Kumar (retd) executive chairman APJA was present as chief guest. The district and sessions judge Bathinda Mr Tejwinder Singh, district Bar Association president Mr Navdeep Singh Jeeda and others were also present.
Earlier Justice Mr AK Sikri visited SSD School Gole Diggi from where he flagged off rally on Quit Drugs Movement. Starting from the school rally culminated at the fire brigade chowk. During rally the students, teachers, NSS volunteers and others participated in it.
