Train maximum youth from BPL families at R SETI, ADC


Impart vocational skills to youth from BPL families, ADC

Loans would be provided to entrepreneurs from BPL families

Madam-Sonali-GiriNewZNew (Bathinda) : The Additional Deputy Commissioner (development) Mrs Sonali Giri directed the members of District Advisory Committee (DAC) of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (R-SETI) to enroll maximum number of youngsters from the below poverty line families to make them independent economically.

She said this while presiding over a meeting of the DAC held at the zila parishad office today.  She said that the youngsters attaining vocational skills from R SETI would be provided loans on easy installments through banks helping them create opportunities for self employment.

During the meeting the training schedule for the year 2015 was also discussed. ADC said that the training courses should be decided as per their demand in villages.

5cqfeffbAppreciating the efforts of R SETI center she said that here youth females from BPL families are taught beauty parlor course, dress designing course, bag making course and for boys basic computer courses are taught. Being run from the building of District Red Cross Society this center has trained around 1000 youngsters since its inception in 2009.

At this center youngsters from the age of 23 to 28 years are imparted vocational training. After the completion of courses, these students are provided bank loans on easy installments. Even after two years of the completion of course, the RSETI center continues to support its students. The girls who have learned work here are now earning money and contributing to run their household making them self-dependent.
