NewZNew (Panchkula) : Students of International Award for Young People(IAYP) Club of Dikshant International School celebrated the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti in a different way. They paid a tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by carrying out a cleanliness drive at Sector 19, Panchkula. It is noteworthy that Mahatma Gandhi had enunciated the importance of sanitation and cleanliness in his way of life, discourses and speeches. In fact he had once proclaimed that sanitation is more important than freedom.

Students picked up litter as well as solid waste in Sector 19 so as to give a message of clean environment, which was so close to Gandhi Ji’s heart.

“The School also conducted a special assembly in which students read book extracts from Gandhi Ji’s work and dedicated a prayer song ‘ Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ to Mahatma Gandhi.” Said Mr. Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Dikshant International School, Zirakpur.
