Unique Mobile App KNIGHTS SOTA unveiled : A unique mobile application by the name of KNIGHTS SOTA was launched here today. The application which is available both on Android Play Store and Apple App Store, which was originally planned for hundreds of bank cash vans, will now also be available for everyone.

With its unique features, the mobile application will help anyone in case of an emergency, with its distinct feature of sending location to the control room of the company, which will further tie up with local police and ensure immediate action. KNIGHTS is a Mohali based company providing security services, especially to cash vans across the country.

The mobile app KNIGHTS SOTA, which stands for Security of Trained Associates derives its name from the fact that the company is being run by ex-servicemen. The app was launched at a seminar on ‘Challenges Facing Movement of Cash’, held at a hotel in Sector 42 here today. Among prominent guests were S.K. Singh, IG Security, Punjab Police, Nilambari Jagadale, SSP Chandigarh and senior security bank officers from the region.

Giving the details, Col. G.P.S. Virk, one of the Company Directors, said, “The app will be very helpful for parents and families of security forces staying away from servicemen on duty and also for veterans, besides also giving the same services to anyone using the app”.

He explained, the app is software based application developed in-house and is a perfect blend and synergy between trained manpower and state of the art technology. It is an adaptive and interactive state of the art monitoring and alarm system coupled with response solutions for valuables, residential and commercial sites.

Originally it was meant for cash vans but is now available for anyone wanting to be secure with the application. In case of an emergency if a particular button is pressed through the app, the exact location is on its own sent to the KNIGHTS control room and the police is informed accordingly to be there in a few seconds. The same app will also be used in case of fire or medical emergencies and the company will accordingly have tie-ups with fire station and hospital, to ensure immediate action.

Large number of Bank Security Officers & Private Security Agencies present in the Seminar appreciated the live demonstration of Fire Brigade & Ambulance in action using this innovation. Kunwar Vikram Singh, Chairman, Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) appreciated apps usage as E Supervisor.

Meanwhile, during the seminar, Brig. RPS Mann said, “Movement of cash is beset with numerous challenges, which include diversity of terrain, humongous chain of plus 4000 currency chests, more than 2 lakh branches, onsite and offsite ATMs, their daily replenishment and movement of cash to their branches.” He said for ATMs another 20,000 plus cash vans are required, adding cash van robberies are also on the rise.
