Early Life & Background
Born in 1998, Vedan hails from Swapnabhoomi Residency, near Thrissur railway station. His mixed Tamil-Malayali roots shape much of his musical identity:
Father: Murali, a native of Thrissur.
Mother: A Sri Lankan Tamil from Jaffna, who migrated to Ooty during the Sri Lankan Civil War.
Vedan grew up surrounded by the realities of social injustice, which later became core themes in his art.
2020: Breakthrough with “Voice of the Voiceless”
At age 25, Vedan made headlines with his debut track, “Voice of the Voiceless”. Released on YouTube and directed by Akhil Ramachandran, the video struck a chord for its raw portrayal of casteism and marginalization, amassing over 600K views. Later that year, he released his second music video, “Bhoomi Njan Vazhunidam”, reinforcing his position in the Malayalam rap community.

MeToo Allegations (2021)
Vedan was accused of sexual misconduct as part of the MeToo movement via a Facebook post. He publicly issued an apology.
Arrest for Drugs & Wildlife Possession (2025)
