State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 35000/-.
Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Tehal Singh posted at Police Station Kotwali, Nabha district Patiala was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Harinderpal Singh. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs. 40000 for presenting cancellation report in his favor in the court against FIR No.54/16.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.35,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigations was under progress.
