West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has declared the result of Group D and Clerk written exam held in February and March earlier this year. The Commission had conducted the written exam for Group D posts on 19th February and for Clerk posts on 5th March. The WBSSC Group D result has been published at the official website of the Commission i.e. www.westbengalssc.com and the candidates can check WBSSC Clerk result, Group D result by using the 14-digit roll number.
Vacancies notified by WBSSC for Clerk and Group-D non-teaching staff
WBSSC had published the advertisement to fill the posts of Non-Teaching Staff i.e. Clerk and Group-D staff in Schools under the Commission on 8th August, 2016. The test named as 3rd Regional Level Selection Test 2016 (RLST-NT) for the post of Non-Teaching Staff was conducted for filling Clerk and Group-D Staff (Peon, Laboratory Attendant, Night Guard, Matron, Helper) posts in recognized non-government aided/ Sponsored/ Junior High/ Secondary/ Higher Secondary Schools in West Bengal against the vacancies available under the W.B. School Service Commission. There are total 4,923 vacancies to be filled under WBSSC.
The selection process includes a written exam, to be followed by a personality test. For filling the Clerk posts, the written exam was conducted on March 5 and the exam carried 60 marks. The Commission will award maximum 10 marks based on the academic qualification which includes professional qualification too. Based on the performance in the written exam and academic qualification, as much as 3,414 candidates will be called for personality test according to the merit.
The personality test will be conducted to screen the candidates for typing and computer proficiency. The personality test carries total weightage of 30 marks, hence the final selection will be made out of maximum 100 marks.
For Group D posts, the written exam carried only 45 marks, while the personality test will have 5 marks. Based on the notified number of vacancies, as much as 6,432 candidates will be called for the personality test. The shortlisting of candidates for personality test will be done in the order of merit derived from the written exam result.
