NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Confederation of Indian Industry’s Young Indians (CII’s Yi), celebrating the spirit of Women Entrepreneurship, organized an interactive session with renowned women entrepreneurs from the region at DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh today. The session was held as a part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Encouraging over 150 students Ms Komal Talwar, Founder and Director, TT Consultants said “Women are proven to be better entrepreneurs because they manage things well and can allocate resources effectively”.
Sharing her successful career as an architect, Ms Namita Singh, Co-Founder, Satnam Namita & Associates said “Women Entrepreneurial life is always full of ups and downs. There comes a stage when it becomes really difficult to manage professional and personal life.”
Ms Nandini Hirrianniah, Co-Founder, The Morpheus shared her concern about the start-up failure rate in India and shared her work in the area of providing support to Start-ups. Inspiring Women led Start-ups she said “The thing every women have to learn is nobody gives you power. You just take it.”
Mr Jaiprakash Hasrajani, Chairman, Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter said “Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators, who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.. Young Indians (Yi) is the official partner of GEW in India and the only youth organisation to be on this week”.
Mr Amit Chugh, Co-Chair Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter shared Yi Chandigarh Chapter’s plan of GEW he said” To encourage student entrepreneurs, we are oraganising ‘Quick Start-ups: beyond selling lemonades’ for school students. A 2 day Start-up Expo in ISB Mohali would further boost entrepreneurship from the region.
