Sh. Mohinder Singh Ji, Sanyojak, Chandigarh Branch told at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 30-A, that it was observed at Delhi by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj while addressing a function to celebrate the Foundation Day of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation as also the Nirankari Vocational Centres. While the Foundation completed its 5 years, the vocational centres celebrated their 1st Annual Day. The function was attended by all the members of the Foundation, members of the Executive Committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, faculty and students of the vocational centres and a large number of guests. Shri Mangat Ram Singhal, former MLA was also present.
Baba Ji said that the Mission’s social services started with the registration of the Sant Nirankari Mandal in 1948 itself. Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji also started charitable Dispensaries and Educational Institutions. He had his own dream about blood donation and a blood bank. It is heartening to say that we are having our own blood bank in Ville Parle, Mumbai shortly.
His Holiness said that the Mission has been making considerable contribution towards health services, with a number of hospitals and dispensaries across the country. Similarly, the Mission is running several educational institutions and tailoring a embroidery training centres for needy women.
Baba Ji said that it was to pursue the Mission’s social welfare activities more and more vigorously that the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation was set up in April, 2010. The Foundation has already made its mark by creating awareness as also organizing activities like Run for Oneness, Cleanliness Drive, Tree Plantation and so on. Perhaps its greatest contribution is to motivate the youth towards selfless service. Otherwise, we know how the youth elsewhere is misguided and used for violence, fanaticism and so on. Baba Ji appreciated the role of Nirankari Vocational Centres towards improving their basic skills along with human values and thus preparing them for better service towards society. He said that the stress here is not only on good careers but good public conduct also.
Referring to the Sant Nirankari Health City for which the Ground Breaking ceremony took place in Delhi on February 23, 2015, Baba Ji said that it is the biggest social welfare project embarked upon by the Mission. He was happy to note that for this there was a tremendous enthusiasm not only in India but in other countries also.
Earlier, Shri C.L. Gulati, Secretary of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation gave a broad view of its various activities with country-wide rather universal response. He said that its commitment to heal, enrich and empower is already receiving worldwide response so much so that the Mission is able to highlight its spiritual angle to social welfare in the UN also. Brig. P.S. Cheema, Member Incharge Medical and Social Welfare Department as also a members the Foundation, informed the audience about important activities to be undertaken in the months to come, particularly in the field of health care.
Baba Ji distributed prizes to the students of Nirankari Vocational Centres for their outstanding performance. He wished for a brilliant success for all concerned.
