With 14 dealerships, Yamaha aims to increase its market share in Punjab
NewZNew (Ludhiana) : After achieving the coveted milestone of selling more than 1 lakh units in September, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. today further strengthened its sales and service network and inaugurated another dealership at Khanna in the Ludhiana district of Punjab.
With the inauguration of new unit – Kalsi Motors – the number of dealerships in Punjab now rises to 14, with four of them located in the important region of Ludhiana. It is noteworthy here that Yamaha sold more than 1 lakh vehicles (including exports) in September this year and now aims to achieve the sales figure of more than 1 million in 2017. Covering a total area of 6000 sq. ft., the dealership – Kalsi Auto – will offer the entire range of Yamaha bikes and scooters with complete complement of sales, services and spare parts. The new dealership has been opened with the aim of meeting the growing demand for two wheelers in the north-west zone.
Speaking on the occasion, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “Connecting with customers in new areas and new markets has been the company’s ongoing endeavor. Last month Yamaha achieved 1 lakh mark and will continue to expand its network to reach out to new customers with its exciting product line up. The style-conscious industrial town of Khanna is a significant market in Punjab and the launch of a new dealership in the town will only support to fortify its position. Yamaha will now have a total of 14 dealerships in the state who will aggressively work towards customer satisfaction & overall strategy of the region.”

Yamaha’s drive towards network expansion aims at increasing service touch-points and ensure spare parts availability, which will further augment sales in the Punjab market. Currently, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its customer touch points to more than 2600 across India and plans to increase it to 3,000 by the end of this year.
