NewZNew (Chandigarh – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : The young mountaineer who scaled Mt Everest in Sanawar team and NCC cadet Fateh Singh Brar an outdoor enthusiast from Muktsar, Punjab is all set to trek treacherous Chaddar trek on frozen Zanskar river in Leh Ladakh.

NCC Group Chandigarh is sending Fateh to Ladakh in peak winters to keep the spirit of adventure imbibed in NCC cadets from the City Beautiful.
Cadet Fateh Singh Brar of NCC Group Chandigarh will be completing this trek on frozen Zanskar river from 18 Jan to 30 Jan 2015. Fateh has also scaled the highest peak in the world Mt. Everest in May 2013 as a member of the Sanawar Everest Team.

Fateh would be undertaking trek on Chaddar trek – one of the most exciting and unique treks in the world. Ladakh freezes in winters and the only way for locals to reach their villages is by this trek on the river Zanskar as the roads and passes are not accessible. This route has been used for centuries for trade and transportation and is most reliable in January/ February when the ice is most stable.
Fateh would trek in day time temperature that would be around -5 to -15 C and morning/night -20 to -35 C.
