NewZNew (Bathinda) : Keeping in view the health related needs of the people from economically weaker section of society, 1.88 lacs families are being covered under the Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance scheme of which 1.17 lacs families have already been identified.
Giving this information here today the Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg stated that under the Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Scheme smart cards are being distributed to the blue card holders wherein around 11333 cards are being distributed initially. He said that under the Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Scheme one has to pay rs 30 for a smart card along with requisite documents. Besides the head of family, four members of a family can get enrolled to avail facilities under the scheme. The enrolled family can get health facilities upto Rs 50000 an year.
ADC (general) Mr Sumit Jarangal, who is closely monitoring the scheme in district, said that the smart card holder family can avail health benefits from civil hospital Bathinda, sub divisional hospitals Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul, CHC Bhagta Bhai Ka, community health center Mehraj, CHC Nathana, Goniana, Raman, Sangat, Balianwali, Maur, Bhucho and some private empanelled hospitals.
He said that at village level coordination was being done with the ASHA workers wherein a day would be fixed for distribution of smart cards to the beneficiaries. He said that the details of every beneficiary would be matched with his or her smart card and then the insurance card will be issued. Regarding this a village-wise schedule will be issued soon to give public advance information.
The details of readied smart cards are following Bathinda city has 14819 beneficiaries, 3216 beneficiaries in Rampura urban, 1829 beneficiaries in Goniana urban, 1196 beneficiaries in Bhucho Mandi, 2312 beneficiaries in Maur, 687 beneficiaries in Kotfatta, 1406 beneficiaries in Raman, 187 beneficiaries in Sangat, 21297 beneficiaries in Bathinda rural, 12245 beneficiaries in Talwandi Sabo, 6572 beneficiaries in Maur rural, 10215 beneficiaries in Rampura rural, 7680 beneficiaries in Phul, 7667 beneficiaries in Bhagta, 10794 beneficiaries in Nathana and 11211 beneficiaries in Sangat have been identified so far.
