Canadian Delegates Visits Continental Institute for International Studies

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Canadian delegates from Georgian College and Conestoga College visited the Continental Institute for International Studies (CIIS), a flagship institute of Continental Group of Institutes. The delegates who visited the CIIS campus in Jalvehra, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab comprised of Gary Harris, Program Head, Mechanical Engineering, Georgian College; James Smith, Program Head, Automotive Business, Georgian College and Michael Phillips, Faculty, Electronics Engineering, Conestoga College.

CIIS has been working in collaboration with Georgian College since 2005 and is now looking forward to join hands with the institute for further expansion. CIIS has successfully transferred over 1000 students to the Georgian College while Conestoga will see the first batch of over 12 students who are all set to transfer to Canada for their 2nd year.

CIIS also has tie-ups with other Canadian colleges and universities including Thompson Rivers University, Saskatchewan Polytechnic and Sheridan College. The Canadian delegates met Dr MS Grewal, Executive Director of CGI and the Program Co-ordinators. Both the parties are planning to explore the possibilities of adding more joint programs for the students interested in pursuing hospitality and trade management.

During the visit, the dignitaries also interacted with the students from all the courses and were quite satisfied with the quality of education being provided at CIIS. Both the sides showed their interest towards the given proposal but the final decision is yet to be taken.

Dr Grewal said, “We are glad that the Canadian delegates were pleased with the outcome of their visit at the CIIS campus and they expressed keen interest in future opportunities under the partnership of the two institutes,” he said.

CIIS is one of the largest international colleges of India that enables the students to do the first year of their diploma or degree in India and complete it in the parent campus in Canada.  CIIS students benefit from the latest North American teaching methods and curriculum; and credentials with global recognition. Senior Canadian & British faculty comes to CIIS on rotational basis for a time period of at least one semester for full time teaching.

Students get an option to apply for Permanent Residency upon successful completion of the program and over 3000 CIIS students have been successfully placed in various industries across the world.
