Union Budget presented today is termed as ‘Balanced Budget’ by the representatives of industry participating in the post discussion of Live Budget Viewing session held today at PHD Chamber, Sector 31, Chandigarh. Representatives believe that while the government through its budget majorly empowers the farmers, agriculture sector and rural population but people from all walks of life will benefit from it.
Mr. R K Saboo, Former President, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said that the MSME sector has been taken care of in this budget. The other areas which have benefitted are agriculture, rural, health, education and defence. He also stated that the budget is good for all. It balances all parameters leading to better quality of life.
Presiding over the budget discussion, Smt. Sukhwinder Khanna, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Department said that many policies of tax simplification are being implemented in the budget. She remarked that after implementing GST by the government, there has been a huge increase in the number of tax payers. The most important aspect of today’s budget is to increase the economic strength of the country. The government has taken care of every section of society by focusing on farmers, rural areas, health and education.
Mr. R.S. Sachdeva, Chairman – Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that the Chamber in its recommendations for budget highlighted the issue of stubble burning to the government and the budget has highlighted on special scheme to tackle air pollution and stubble burning which is highly appreciated by the Chamber. He also mentioned that the farmers of Punjab-Haryana will get direct benefit of the central government’s relief to the farmers which are beneficial for the progress of Punjab and Haryana. Dr. Ashok Khanna, Former President, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry shared his views mentioning that the relief and attention provided through health insurance will bring down insecurity thus leading to low corruption levels.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Sudha Sharma, former Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Directorate said that the budget presented today is a balanced budget which will have better results in the future. Responding to the Central Government’s Budget, Mr. Amarjit Goyal, Former Chairman of the Punjab Committee, said that the Central Government has opened a new gate for industrialists, especially the small entrepreneurs, by allowing the manufacturing of MSMEs and private sector industries in defence sector. With this, the industrialists will not only help in the defense services of the country but will also promote Make in India.
