Hosts an insightful career orientation session for young patrons of ‘Humari Kaksha’
NewZNew (Chandigarh) : With the hospitality industry gaining momentum, many young minds are exploring career options in the industry and are keen to know more about it. As part of a Hyatt Thrive initiative in Hyatt’s Global Month of Community Service, Hyatt Regency Chandigarh hosted an orientation session for students of classes 9 to 12 of city based NGO Humari Kaksha.
Sharing insights and his vast experience of the industry, General Manager,Puneet Baijal said, “Every year in April, our colleagues from Hyatt hotels across the globe come together to make a positive impact in our communities and this year at Hyatt Regency Chandigarh our endeavour is to familiarise the young children to the hospitality industry enabling them to make an informed choice about their future.”
The GM’s session was followed by a hotel show around and a short table etiquette session by the Food & Beverage team. Subsequently the Director of Human Resources, Manish Jain, educated them about the various career opportunities offered by the industry and answered their questions.
The session culminated with an elaborate lunch where kids enjoyed innovative culinary delights prepared by Executive Chef, Rajib Mazumder.
Hyatt Regency Chandigarh has been associated with Humari Kaksha since 2015. Prior to this activity, Hyatt Thrive has productively conducted sessions on Personality development, Good housekeeping and Tree plantation on various occasions. In one recent activity, the initiative engaged mothers of students of Humari Kaksha and imparted a culinary session on quick and easy recipes. They also encouraged them to become financially independent by starting their own Tiffin service by giving insights into preparing a healthy Tiffin.
