Kabir Waraich notches top honours in 7th Hero O&A Autocross

NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Seasoned rallyist, Kabir Waraich took away the top honours by remaining the fastest of all in different categories at the final rounds 7th Hero O&A Autocross, Motocross and Offroad Challenge which concluded on Sunday. The grand finale was flagged off by the IG, Patiala Naunihal Singh at GMADA Ground, opposite PUDA Bhawan, Phase 8, Mohali. On this occasion Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner, Mohali Uma Shankar was the guest of honour.

In Autocross category, 4X4 Open category, Kabir Waraich stood first, second position was bagged by Amartej Pal Bhuwal and Harminder Singh secured the third position. In the 4×4-upto 1400 cc category the first position was taken by Suresh Rana, second slot went to Hitesh Sharma and third position was secured by Amartej Pal Bhuwal. In 4×4-upto 1600 cc category, Kabir Waraich stood first and second position was taken by Suresh Rana and Amartej Bhuwal remained at the third slot.

In the diesel category, Suresh Rana stood first while Harakarn Singh bagged the second position and Sunbir Sandhu secured the third position. In the Novice category, Chandan Sharma stood first, Hitesh Sharma secured the second slot and Vishal Bodh bagged the third position.

In Upto 1600 cc category Sanjay Sikand stood first, Harvinder Bhola stood second and J J Sandhu secured the third position. In Upto 1400 cc category, Parishrut S Jhina stood first, Sazid Singa stood second and Parminder Thakur bagged third position.

In SUV above 2000 cc category first position was taken by Harminder Singh, second position went to Amartej Paal Bhuwal and third slot went to Harkaran Singh.

In Women’s category Pooja Sikand stood first and second position went to Rupinder Nirwan.

In Motocross- Group A, Kunwar Nrishu stood first and second position was taken by Jeewanjeet Singh.

In the Group B, Jeewanjeet Singh stood first, Gaurav Pratap bagged the second position and the third position went to Rihan Khan.  In Above 165 cc category, Jeewanjeet Singh stood first, Rajan Sidhu bagged the second position and third position was secured by Sangeet Bhatt.

In upto165cc category, Prithvi Dhillon stood first, Rihan Khan secured the second position and third position went to Vishal Dhiman. In Hero category, Sangeet Bhatt stood first, Rihan Khan secured the second position and Avinash singh stood third. In Open category, Rajan Sidhu, stood first, Sangeet Bhatt second and Rihan Khan bagged the third position. In Local category, Prithvi Dhillon stood first, Jeewanjeet Singh bagged the second position and Vinay Thakur secured the third position.

In Off Roading’s Xtreme category, first position was secured Harinder Gill, second went to Harpreet Singh and third position was taken away by Sunny Birdi.  In Novice category Pratap Singh won the first prize, the second position was bagged by Haraziz Brar and Jagjot Singh stood third. In the Stock category, the first position was secured by Maneet Singh, second by Sunbir Dhaliwal and third position went to Naresh Gaurav.

In newly added scooter category, first position was taken by Pratap Rana, secong went to Avinash Singh and third position was taken by Shaha Faisal Khan.  

Gulpreet Aulakh, Clerk of the Course (COC) for the event and Founder of Team Chandigarh Adventure Sports (TCAS), “ This time 190 races were conducted in this event which went smoothly. The off roading category witnessed participation of 38 vehicles. The event will be more adventurous and ground will be more technical next year”.

Nikhil Jaspal, Co founder of TCAS and steward of the event, who also designed the track showed satisfaction over the response towards the three day event. He assured to come back again next year with bigger thrill.
