NewZNew (Ludhiana) : Ludhiana College of Engineering And Technology Katani Kalan joined ‘SAVEME’ Campaign with punjab pollution control board. The students were given information about growing the importance of Neem Trees.
National Green Tribunal Chairman Justice Swatanter Kumar exhorted the youth to take lead for the protection of natural environment. According to him if human organs like kidneys, heart, liver and other vital organs could be transplanted then why trees could not be transplanted despite having the latest technology of re-planting them. The founder trustee of Dialogue Highway NGO Mr. Devinder Sharma mentioned that the plantation of Neem tree should be undertaken extensively throughout the country because of its medicinal and environmental friendly characteristics.
Vijay Gupta, Chairman, LCET urged students to take initiatives to clean the environment and adopt eco-friendly practices and asked them to do a green act every day and make the earth a beautiful place to live in. Students plants planted various sapliings at the ccampus and pledged to plant maximum trees near their house and look after them. Neem Plants were also distributed among the students so as to plant and make the State Clean, Healthy and Green.
