Lecture on Water Conservation and Watershed Management: To dwell on ‘Climate Change and Sustainable Solutions ‘ the Department of Botany of GGDSD College organized an awareness lecture on Water Conservation and Watershed Management.
The students were sensitized towards the issue of water scarcity in the present times and in the near future. Hence, the need to conserve water and the various systems of rain water harvesting were also emphasized.
The college has two rain water harvesting units in the campus which add to the water table of underground water. As many as 40 students along with faculty members of the department also visited the two rain water harvesting units of the college. Principal, Dr. Balraj Thapar encouraged the students to conserve water and to further spread this message in the community.
