DC HOLDS MEETING WITH OFFICERS

NewZNew (Bathinda) : On the instructions of Election Commission of India to encourage activities under the SVEEP campaign, the district administration Bathinda would be celebrating National Voters’ Day on January 25 at the Government Rajindra College.

Presiding over a meeting of officers from various departments held to review the arrangements for celebrations, the district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Bathinda Dr Basant Garg stated that the theme for this year’s National Voters’ Day was Easy Registration, Easy Correction. As per the theme getting registered as a voter and then getting vote corrected had become easy. He appealed people to celebrate the day and create awareness and be a part of this campaign with enthusiasm.

He added that during the celebrations people awareness would be raised on the importance of getting enrolled as a voter and practicing ones right to vote. The winners of block level competitions held on theme of National Voters’ Day would also be honored on the occasion. Also the government employees, who have done commendable job in election process, would be honored at this occasion.

The district election officer added that tableaux, skits and plays would be presented wherein the school students and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra would be participating. Besides students, the government officials, election registration officers of different constituencies in district and other people too would be part of this event.

The ADC (development) Mr Varinder Sharma, SDM Bathinda Mr Damanjit Singh Mann, officers from District Mandi Board, education, transport and other departments too were present during the meeting.
