About Domaines Barons de Rothschild
Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) has always made excellent winemaking and savoir-vivre an integral part of their legacy discovering soils with strong potential, and then producing the finest product possible. DBR [Lafite] launched in 1988, controls about 1200 ha of vines in France and overseas. Lafite was one of four wine-producing Châteaux of Bordeaux originally awarded First Growth status in the 1855 Classification, which was based on recent prices. Since then, it has been a consistent producer of one of the world’s most expensive and excliusive red wines.
The Domaines Barons de Rothschild’s Collection
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Réserve Spéciale Médoc: A frank attack that opens out onto tight tannins with a typical robust structure of the Medoc. The finish is long and spicy. A Medoc that will keep well and improve with age.
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Réserve Spéciale Pauillac: Round and fleshy attack with ripe and well integrated tannins. Powerful aromas with a spicy and silky finish.
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Réserve Spéciale Bordeaux Rouge: A balanced, open wine with good flavour, a nice fruity “bite” on the palate and good freshness on the finish.
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Légende Bordeaux Blanc: in the mouth, after a full-bodied attack, it is rounded and flavourful with a pleasant fruity finish.
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Chateau D’ Aussières (Corbières): At first quite reserved and then rapidly opens out. It is rich, balanced and elegant. The tannins are tight and silky. Crispy fruit. A long and dense finish.
Domaines Barons De Rothschild Lafite Aussières Rouge (Vin De Pays): In the mouth the explosive full-bodied attack is very typical of a Languedoc wine. It then settles down, delicately becoming harmonious. The tannins are silky and well-rounded. The finish, full of freshness, again expresses liquorice and spices.
