NewZNew (Chandigarh) : “More than 25,000 visitors have already visited the “The Pakistan Show” being organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the very first time in Chandigarh”, said Dalip Sharma, Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“It being a Saturday and a holiday on account of Ramnavmi today, the people could be seen thronging the venue from early morning. Being Sunday, we are expecting an even better footfall tomorrow“, said Sharma.
“The response definitely is very encouraging. It may be made an annual feature for Chandigarh fans of Pakistan designs”, said Sharma.
Shazia Fahed from Meer designer, exhibitors from Pakistan exhibiting textiles said they were more than happy with the visitors thronging Pakistani stalls, saying, “The response is massive. It has been an opportunity to understand the interest of the locals. We look forward to visit Chandigarh adding more items next time.”
Khoula Naeem from Laila’s Art, said, “The visitors have shown keen interest in Pakistani designs. We look forward to designers from India display their art works during the proposed “India Show” scheduled in Islamabad next year.”
Tasleem Ahmed Warsi and Mohammed Khilji from Warsi Food Karachi, putting up the Pak food court in the exhibition said the love being showered on us is simply amazing. Inviting the Indians to visit Pakistan, Ahmed said, “It would be wonderful, if people from India also visit Pakistan and see for themselves how Pakistanis long to visit India.”
The designer lehangas, anarkali suits, gems, jewellery, and juttis are the other big hit with the visitors, specially the youngsters. The polki, kundan, and oxidized jewellery are selling like hot cakes.
The 5-day Pakistan Show has is being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan. It shall conclude on Monday.
