Wellness Expert launches animated film on dining etiquettes at Vivek High School

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Good manners and etiquette help in defining yourself and our table manners introduce us even before we can introduce ourselves, said Namita Jain, a well-known Mumbai based wellness expert, who was in city to launch an animated film on dining etiquette. The 17-minute film was screened for students of all classes in Vivek High School in Sector 38 here today.

Having published 10 books, Namita Jain, also the MD of Kishco, a cutlery brand, has spent over 25 years in health and wellness space. This film, a social initiative of Kishco has been conceptualized by Namita herself, aims to impart fundamental knowledge on table manners to school children, will be given to principals of city schools in tricity free of cost.

Namita Jain, Managing Director, Kishco Limited said, The Kishco brand has been a hallmark of fine dining and elegance since 1950. We take this legacy forward as we aim to educate and inform the new generation on the nuances of Dining Etiquette. We feel that dining etiquette is a topic, which may or may not be taught at home and is not a part of regular school curriculum.”

She said, “In order to make the communication interesting and relevant, we decided to create a DVD with animated characters in a story format. Some of the topics that are covered include basic table setting, posture while eating, correct placement of napkin, courtesies that should be extended, buffet manners and faux pas to avoid on the dining table.”

The presentation given by Namita Jain was in the form of a short animated film, which makes it young adult friendly and is at the same time very relevant to the young generation. At the end of the film, there is a short quiz, which is interactive – aiming to consolidate what the children have learnt through the film, for which recommended age for viewing is 5 upwards.

Renu Puri, Principal, Vivek High School, Sector 38 said, “The animated film on dining etiquettes was appreciated by the students and helped imbibe social skills, adding another dimension to education.”
