NewZNew (Chandigarh) : All set to join the fashion industry, the graduating students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali showcased their creative talent in ‘Anukama 15’, an annual design collection mega fashion show held at Tagore Theater this evening. Versatile outfits designed especially for theme-based sequences by NIIFT, Mohali students were gracefully portrayed by professional models as they walked down the ramp.
The show presented a rich blend of 55 lovely collections designed by talented and creative Fashion Graduates from Mohali and Ludhiana centers. The opening collection of Anukama-2015 was based on the theme of ‘Save the Girl Child’. The young students came up with fabulous collections, high on style quotient ranging from very wearable to ultra experimental ones. The students also had creatively used woven’s, knits, rib, woolen blends, khadi, silk, cotton, appliqué work and digital printing, to enhance the creativity of their themes and collections.
Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister, Industries and Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab were chief guest during occasion. His Excellency, Mr. Larbi Reffouh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco was the Guest of Honor.
Mr. Anirudh Tewari, IAS, Chairman, NIIFT and Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Punjab presided over the function. Among others , Mr. S R Ladhar, IAS, Director General, NIIFT, and Secretary Industries & Commerce, Mr. KS Brar, Director, NIIFT and Mr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, NIIFT were also presented during occasion.
Meanwhile the show was a roaring success with the ramp dazzling with designer outfits worn by renowned models, Amanpreet Wahi, Shilpa Singh, Hida, Himani Thapa, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Reena, Priyanka Bhau, Aanchal Chaudhary and Anamika Benn etc.
Every collection has a unique inspirational source behind them like Phulkari, Ikat, Moroccan Art, Wooden Furniture, Rock Garden, Monsoon, Flowing Water, Chimes, Marvelleous Metallic, and Rock Band etc.
